Key to NFRC codes
Product, frame, thermal-break, gap-fill, tint, spacer and grid codes used on NFRC certified product listings.
NFRC certified product listings use short codes for product type, frame material, thermal break, gap fill, tint, spacer and grids. The most common ones are summarized here.
Product type
- CSSV: casement, single vent. CSDV: casement, double vent. CSOX: casement, vent and fixed. CSTH: casement, top-hinged.
- DATT: dual action, tilt-turn. DAOT: dual action, other.
- DDSG: sliding glass door (XX or OX). DDFR: French-style double door. EDSL: single-leaf swinging entrance door.
- FIGS: fixed, geometric shapes.
Frame and sash material
- FB: fiberglass. FR: fiberglass-reinforced.
- AT: aluminum with thermal breaks in all members. AP: partial thermal breaks. AL: aluminum, not thermally broken. AU: thermally improved aluminum.
- AW: aluminum-clad wood. WD: wood. VY: vinyl (uPVC). AV: aluminum/vinyl composite.
Thermal-break material
- P: polyamide. U: urethane. FB: fiberglass. F: foam. RN: reinforced nylon. V: vinyl. AI: air. N: not applicable.
Gap fill
- AIR: air. ARG: argon/air. KRY: krypton/air. AR2: argon/krypton mixture. XEN: xenon/air. VAC: vacuum (evacuated cavity).
Tint
- CL: clear. GY: gray. BZ: bronze. BL: blue. GR: green. DV: dynamic glazing. BG: blinds between the glazing.
Spacer
- A1: aluminum. A2: thermally broken aluminum. A3: aluminum-reinforced polymer. A5: aluminum-reinforced butyl. Suffix -D dual sealed, -S single sealed. Non-metallic and thermoplastic spacers (such as Kodispace 4SG) are listed under their own codes.
Grids
- N: none. G: grids between the glass. S: simulated divided lites. T: true divided lites. Grid width classes: less than 1" (0.75) and 1" or more (1.5).
